Toba Wilderness Marina Leads the Way
Caretakers Nahanni and Paul run a stunning, off-the-grid marina surrounded by British Columbia’s rugged wilderness. When we spoke with them about their Dockwa experience, their enthusiasm was contagious. “We love Dockwa,” they said together.
Before adopting Dockwa, operations at Toba Wilderness were entirely manual — emails, phone calls, and plenty of follow-ups just to confirm reservations. “Most bookings took two or three calls just to get sorted,” Paul told us. “Now, everything’s streamlined, and we get to spend more time out on the docks with our guests.”
That shift from managing logistics to connecting with boaters is exactly what Dockwa was built for — to give marinas their time back and elevate the guest experience. “Dockwa completely removes mix-ups. No more ‘I said the 25th but you have me for the 26th.’ It saves us dozens, if not hundreds, of hours every year.”
They’re big fans of Dockwa’s management tools too. “The map is great,” Nahanni said. “At a glance, I can see who’s docked where, reach out to them, and check if they’ve paid — it’s all in one place.” Plus, the waitlist feature lets them stay flexible. “We love the waitlist feature — it’s just incredible. We like to keep some space open in case owners stop by, and as we get closer, we can easily fill it from the waitlist.”
For years, Dockwa didn’t support Canadian currency — meaning boaters had to pay in U.S. dollars. With that final piece in place, Dockwa’s arrival in Canada marks a huge milestone — not just for us, but for marinas like Toba Wilderness that are redefining what effortless hospitality looks like.
