The docks and show booths were bustling with guests at the Newport International Boat Show (NIBS), September 15 to 18, in Rhode Island—and boaters in the Dockwa network shared lots of love with staff at the show.
The only weather vagary during show week was a strong blow on Thursday, September 15, but the bright sun kept the show sparkling all weekend, with late-summer temperatures pleasant for strolling the docks and perusing booths.
This year, Dockwa was a show sponsor and had two booths from which to welcome guests—outside on Commercial Wharf and on the docks just behind the well-known Moorings Seafood Kitchen and Bar. (Which gave the Dockwa team easy access to the “bag of doughnuts” as the restaurant calls its delicious lobster fritters, below, and other seafood treats. Hey, when in Rome, right?)
“We are very pleased with how smoothly the Show went and how beautiful the weather was this year,” said Lisa Knowles, Show Director of Newport Exhibition Group. “Attendance was at an all-time high and exhibitors commented on the quality of interactions that took place. We also saw an exceptional amount of innovation on display and as the debut for many boats and products in the United States, Newport demonstrated that the future of the marine industry looks very bright.”
The Newport International Boat Show is one of the largest in-water events in the country and the premier show in New England.
Next, Dockwa heads to the IBEX trade show in Tampa, September 27 to 29.
